The Grootvadersbosch Conservancy has launched an active restoration programme alongside our invasive alien clearing work.

Where nature can no longer recover on its own, we’re giving it a helping hand: planting and propagating indigenous trees
and plants in our own nursery, and planting them back into disturbed areas.
But this project is about so much more than trees and plants: It’s about people.
Through this work, men and women from rural communities are developing new skills, finding jobs
and rediscovering a love for plants and nature.
Our goal: To plant 1000 trees in the next year, raising R150,000 for the restoration activities, and supporting livelihoods in our nursery.

“I thought a tree was just a tree and a plant was just a plant. Now (since the launch of this restoration project) I know their names, I talk to them, and I love them.”
