BIRDING.

The Grootvaderbosch Conservancy is a PREMIER BIRDING AREA
– with more than 200 species here.

THE SECRETIVE FORESTS PROVIDE A HOME TO BIRD SPECIES YOU’D NOT NORMALLY SEE IN OUR PART OF THE WORLD. LIKE THE UNUSUAL EAGLES AND BUZZARDS THAT NEST IN OUR TOWERING TREES.

It’s the ideal spot for birders to add a number of new species to their list.

BIRDERS: HERE’S OUR CHALLENGE TO YOU.

To tick off sightings of THESE birds during a trip to the Grootvadersbosch. They’re all found in our forests, fynbos
and agricultural lands; and you’re a seriously savvy birder if you spot them all.

HERE’S A TIP:

The Grootvadersbosch valley is a hidden gem. It’s secluded and quiet.

And aside from the odd passing cyclist, you could find yourself immersed in the sounds of nature (and nothing else).

It’s during these quiet moments that you could hear the bird calls of those shy and elusive birds.
So make the most of these peaceful forest- and fynbos moments to find those bird species
not yet ticked off on your list.
