That’s up to our team, including the inspirational André Shand. André, who turned his life around from an alcoholic
who was near-death, heads out regularly, undertaking the back-breaking job of cutting back plant and tree growth,
checking switchbacks, and checking fence bridges.

This is costly. So we need your help, to ensure OUR TRAILS can keep going.

NAME YOUR FENCE BRIDGE.For R500, name your fence bridge. The best bit? Our fence bridges are built from invasive alien trees, harvested in our local alien clearing projects. Your name will feature on our mountain bike material (website, maps) featuring YOUR fence bridge.

HAVE YOUR NAME ENGRAVED ON OUR ECOBENCH.For R1000, your name can be immortalized on an ecobench, made from locally harvested invasive trees. Visit your bench at any time – strategically placed for you to enjoy the best views ever.

NAME YOUR TRAIL DESCENT OR CLIMB.And have your name captured not only on our trail material (website and maps), but ALSO on Strava (mountain bikers – you’ll know how special this feels). For R2000, you’ll also get a FREE ANNUAL permit to ride our trails at any time. And of course, a Grootvadersbosch coffee mug is yours (you can collect this from our office when you join us for a ride).

PLANT A TREE IN OUR FOREST. The forests of the Grootvaderbosch Conservancy are official reforestation sites of the Trees for Tourism Programme (of the South African Reforestation Trust). For just R130, plant your tree (you can plant more than one), and secure your space in our forest forever.
