Training at the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy

FOR Some INHABITANTS OF SUURBRAAK AND HEIDELBERG, THIS MEANT STARTING A NEW JOURNEY, AND ULTIMATELY A NEW CAREER PATH: AS WALKING GUIDES.

They received training over many months – including two-week intensive guiding training (with support of Swellendam Tourism, the Table Mountain Fund – an associated Trust of WWF South Africa, and the Department of Environmental Affairs).

THESE GUIDES ARE NOW TRAINED
TO LEAD HIKING GROUPS AND ARE
REGISTERED ADVENTURE GUIDES

– OFFERING A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE ON THE NATURAL LAND AND THE CONSERVANCY.

They now offer their skills to the conservancy, to local guesthouses in the conservancy
and in the small towns of Suurbraak and Heidelberg.
