On the 27th March, The LBI eco-trail Network project was launched. The meeting was hosted at Honeywood farm and was attended by GVB Conservancy Members, Swellendam tourism, Suurbraak, Hessequa Municipality, Barrydale Crew Members, Skeiding, Table Mountain Fund, SanParks and Overberg Lowlands Conservation Trust.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present the project to partners and to learn from other trail building initiatives on the west coast and the Rim of Africa. Thanks to Nolo Gwangqa, Ivan Groenhof and Tracey Philips for sharing your experiences. The day before the meeting, a short tour across the region was organised to showcase the region to our funders, TMF. Thank you to Dr Cliff Dlamini and Carla Wood from TMF for joining us and for believing in this project. Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting and particularly those who were such wonderful hosts to our visitors, including Honeywood farm, Dundonald, Skeiding, Frier Hill, BontebokPark, Suurbraak, GVB Trust, Strawberry Hill.
