After a year of planning and meetings, we have started building our first trail loop in the network. Unfortunately, after 16 months of discussions we were not able to get a signed MOU from Cape Nature to link our network with the existing trails in Cape Nature. The LBI trails will therefore have to bypass Cape Nature. We have presented the trail loops to Swellendam Municipality and we are engaging with Suurbraak community to get approval for the route across the communal land. In the mean time, MOUs have been signed with the private landowners and the first loop will take riders across private farms and showcase lowland fynbos, pastures littered with lovely cow tracks and into the magnificent Langeberg mountains. All our trails focus on linking existing trails, gravel tracks and cow paths. The building is creating employment for local community members and will support many more as we bring sustainable eco-tourism to the region.
Our launch date is early next year and we have lots of building ahead. Thank you Table Mountain Fund for your support
