Over the last four years, in partnership with the Department of Environment, Landowners and Landcare, the Conservancy has removed invasive vegetation from over 56km of riparian edge in the Duiwenhoks and Buffeljags Rivers. This is having a dramatic impact on the amount of water returned to the system as well as improved flood control and increased biodiversity. We have also cleared over 5000ha of invasive vegetation from indigenous mountain fynbos and renosterveld. This work has created an average of 65 full time employment equivalents a year. We are very proud of our contractors and their employees who are making a real difference in our communities. Thank you to everyone who has funded and supported this important work.
